My Journey Into Writing

If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be writing , stories, and sharing pieces of my heart with the world, I would have laughed — politely, of course. Growing up, I was the quiet one, the introvert who found more comfort in notebooks than in conversations.

Writing, for me, started as something so small, a simple journal tucked away from curious eyes. It wasn’t about perfect sentences or polished grammar. It was about finding a space where I could be completely honest, raw, and safe. A world where my thoughts didn’t have to sound perfect to be valid.

In the beginning, it was just me and my journal.
No audience. No pressure. Just endless pages where I could pour out my fears, my dreams, my secret hopes of a life much bigger than what I could see. Journaling taught me that words could hold weight — they could heal, they could dream, they could create worlds where I felt seen.

As life evolved — university, career goals, the inevitable rollercoaster of adulthood — writing remained my anchor.
Even when everything else felt shaky, writing stayed.

From Private Pages to Public Words

Stepping into blogging was terrifying.
Would anyone care about what I had to say?
Would my words be good enough?

I launched Radiance With Lene not because I felt ready — but because I realized I would never feel ready.
I wanted to share my light, my struggles, my little wins and heartbreaks, especially as a young African woman navigating life abroad. I wanted to tell stories that felt human, real, and alive. Stories that others, maybe you, could see a part of yourself in.

Blogging became my way of telling the world, “Hey, I’m here. I’m building my dreams from scratch. It’s messy, but it’s mine.”

The Heart of My Writing

What fuels my writing today?
Honestly — it’s the little things.

The messy, beautiful in-between moments.

The quiet victories no one claps for.

The days when homesickness weighs heavy but hope still lingers.

The magic of ordinary days — a croissant on a park bench, a kind stranger’s smile, a rainy walk home.

I’ve realized that writing isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about capturing moments — even the fleeting ones — and preserving them with heart.

That’s what my blog is built on. That’s what my stories, like Heart of a Dilemma, are built on.
And slowly, piece by piece, I’m building a voice that feels like home.

Building a Dream From Scratch

Some days, this dream feels too big.
The brand, the blog, the books still unwritten — it’s overwhelming.
But I’m learning that everything worth building starts messy, small, and uncertain.

So if you’re out there, staring at a blank page or doubting your own story, let me tell you: start anyway.
Start scared. Start clumsy. Start when no one is clapping.
The world needs your voice — not a perfect version, but the real one.

Where I’m Heading

Today, my dream is bigger than just writing for myself.
I’m working on growing Radiance With Lene, pouring my heart into Substack, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Instagram — carving a space for people who believe in dreaming loudly and living softly, even when life feels complicated.

I’m also nurturing my storytelling muscles through fiction, crafting characters and worlds that feel almost too real — like Elise’s journey in Heart of a Dilemma.
Because at the end of the day, it all comes back to this: telling human stories that matter.

And guess what? I’m just getting started.

Thank you for being here, for reading, for believing in dreams stitched together by words.
I hope my journey reminds you that it’s never too late, you’re never too small, and your words are always enough.

This is just the beginning.
